Special locations -
Set amidst the Ellora hill range (Maharashtra), it is habitat
of the Dusky Eagle Owl
with wich i spent the last 3 nights of 2014 in the gorge.
check at page Outstanding nature !!
The hills around are as well habitat of the Rednecked Falcon, seen one couple from close as tehy were
performing togather, fantastic.
Magic nalla is habitat to a special Crab, a freshwater
crab which is living there in the sand between stones and rocks in the nalle. The crab get
about 15 cm max body size, measured by the hard bodycovers and claws found.
Whats funny about these crabs is that they keep the areas close to their sandholes clean
by taking pieces of plastic or other garbage with their tongs and
somehow quite fast shooting it away.
(Nehmen den Mist in die Zangen u schnalzen ihn weg) The crabs are food to herons,
also some locals eat the crabs.
Magic nalla is also kingfishers territory (White Throated), one time at sunset I encounteerd Common Teals,
taking off then, the region is also habitat of the Hoopoe and the Grey Hornbill which
get also into the Bungalows garden there.
Further Blackshouldered Kites
can be watched hunting there, Woolen Necked Stork may pass by
at the lower wooded areas with jheels, have seen one time from far.
Common are the Roseringed Parakeets around the Monolithe and a Bats specie (or more)
can be seen inside.
Shikra lives in the hills around, the region is as well the Black Eagles
seen over noon hours for some while in a tree at the nalla.
The morning of the 1st jan 2015, moving down from Magic nalla I found a weak House Swift
which i took and warmed in my hand, and took off soon later from it at the cliff.
village is not far from Ellora (10min by bus)
where there is Aurangzebs and his families tomb,
fortification walls and ruins, at Ellora village is the old public bath which got renovated.
As well interesting there are stones and minerals at Ellora,
sometimes Quartz in layers in the sourrounding rock,
in rose, white or clear, some may be Obsidian (?), which got used in
prehistoric times for arrow heads (Bhimbetka caves).
Sometimes the quartz is in christalline form inside small cavelike stones (fast Geoden).
Chapora - Laguna
A northgoan village, this village is not big but big of hidden spots
to view birds. It is set between biotops like the Chapora hill with fort ruin,
Chapora Laguna which is partly laying dry during low tide, with a small fisher harbour
at the mouth of the Chapora river, to the north Chapora Laguna is bordered by
the soutehrn bend of Morjim beach where people swimm sometimes.
There the curents change from low to high tide, check pic with explanation at end of article.
C.Laguna is identical with the mouth of Chapora river.
In the vilage you can find C. lake, little hidden and not many know, its mostly covered
with vegetation floating carpet, january the Waterhyazinths (Echinodorus ?)
The village is embeded in woods mixed with local talukas, spread around
simple local houses under palm trees and djungle like looking woods, some old falling
apart walls n the more.
Bird species which can be seen in the area are Kites,
(sometimes Night Heron), Terns
Kingfisher, Seagull, Oriole, Flycatchers, Junglefowl,
Green Bee Eaters, Shikra, Goshhawk, Eagle Owl

and the Whitebellied Seaeagle

Set in the himalayan slopes over Mc Leod Ganj at an altitude of 2300m. To be reached
by foot from Mc Leod G. via Tushitas (tushita-info.com) in the woods or from Bhagsu which got very hotel
style and touristic.
Dharamkot is sprinkled with nice paddy fields which are again decorated
with smooth and more or less huge granite rocks in all sizes, biotop to the Mongoose, Hoopoe
(Wiedehopf), Shrikes, Warblers, Bulbuls, Swallows and Swifts can be watched at
Green hotel in Mc Leod G.
The Hoopoe is one of the most colorfull birds orange body
with wings and cap in black and white stripes. Nested 2002 in our garden in centr.
Europe where they count birds and couples in the valley at the southern Alps, it s a
rare bird there. Dharamkot is embeded in fresh Deodar woods (Himal. Cedar) to the top,
prayer flag locations can be found here and there.
Hikes can be done up to Shiva temple and further to Triund (half day trekk) or the waterfall
from top of Dharamkot (2hrs), nice for taking a chilling bath, dont forget some food on way.
During march-april Rhododendron trees can be found flowering, at uppar
himal slopes like near Trishul also during June, in dark red around the villages slopes.
Crows and Kites often perform nicely in the skies, also Bearded Vultures high above
passing in noon thermics, Dhauladar range is one of his preferd breeding ranges.
Great Bulbuls and Yellowbilled Blue Magpies (also redbilled
) in groups roaming.
People are mostly friendly, during trekking season you get good food in restaurants
and rooms can be booked from simple to quite fency, just have your eyes open and enjoy.
Digitalis is blossoming at top end of Dharamkot during april, in march llreday the
Immergruen (Vinca minor).
on way to the other waterfall even a small public bath can be found.
Don t cluster all steep slopes at Bhagsu with hotels as it is exponated to heavy monsoon showers
and can get a mudslide and rumble story. Nice hikes can be done from Mc Leod via
the woods to Shiva temple or all around to Dharamkot which is for years allready a hideout
and relax location after hot travels in lowlands, Goa and further south.

birds (ornithologia), plants, biotops and much more to discover.
Vicinity of Kosi river you can find below Almora city a Stupa or Saken grave like looking hill set in the ravines and rice fields, totally round and about 6m high, further over the hills many porcupine quills here nd there, and in a street curve (construction site) a mum or dad of all bombs like looking steet construction, with a little pond in the curve, dragon flies, in the moist cliffsides and the Tawny Eagle around, Eagle Owls
also possible which sometimes catch a young cow or streetdog and at end of the day reaching the Koshi

Parvaty valley - HP
ROCKS and WATERS
Parvaty valley is mostly interesting, it runs from east to west in the Kullu valley region.
Most rock and mountains are of hard granite and related mixed stones.
It can be seen on supertsteep mountain slopes with mostly dark rock, guess dark granite, and some trees on it only.
Upper valley you find nice locations like Kalga set on a granite socket, what makes the fields
during pre monsoon time swamp and moorelike. The water doe not go into rocks below.
Since years they work on a big dam, once a narrow gorge maybe 30m high crossed by a small beautifull bridge, the construction sites function is not yet clear in sight, it looks ugly bad an evel.
From some rock layers on other side (Tosh) it seems that water is getting through the hillside there, more sandy like washed hills near the dam.
Beside the construction sites the old paths and ways up are a bid lost, washed away and some parts end in nowhere (takes about 50 min from Beershani depending on luggage), but specially walls in iron-nets are also breaking away, what is mostly done by heavy rains and loose layers behind. The Kalga granite socket will not bother about that but for sure some trekkers and hikers on way. It can be mainateined and is of a good challange. Only nice samll paths and further up to Keerganga which takes about 4 hrs hike, biz is hard enough.
They also made a car capable taking tunnel beneath Kalga on way to Pulga, maybe a Entlastungstunnel for high water from damsite but the distance does not make much difference. The granite socket will not bother.
Kalga and Parvaty valley is great and big enough to take such strange and wired measures, but for future it needs to be more dezent, these hydel projects.

Yssik Kul - Kirgisean Sea - Tien Shan:
Kungej Alatoo range along the northern coast of Yssik Kul (at 1500m alt) is mostly of granite, below smooth
endless rock fields and in back the nearly 5000ders, Yssik Kul sea is 160km long and at its broadest stretch 60km.
In Yssik Kul itself you find the Schlammohrschnecke (nice snails, pics below),
which gets here bigger and has an harder cover than in central Europe.
For aquarien maniacs it could be interesting because Brackwasser conditons, a bid salty, are special.
Did not see any literature on fish of Yssik Kul but they ve books in the lovely houses, woods are rare
in high altitude mountain steppe but there are also some cotainer sized newspaper, mags, lighter and
cigarrette sellers with small winter save windows. As granite sands are calcium free its also special for specialists in biotop aquarias.
The high altitude mountain ranges could also proof interesting for Geologists and Climatologists.
During ice ages all was covered in huge ice and glacier covers but not the highest peaks which show
sharp and high walls and breaks, over 4000m nowadays.
Boom valley river northwest of Yssik Kul drainages south into the kirg. sea which is a dead end for waterways
and at northern side the way out of Tshong Kemin and at the hight of highway rest places north the way
to kyrgyzean lowlands and further to Kazaksthan (german travel guides tell funny stories sometimes).
Wild mammals left by the Nomads, Mongols and modern hunters are sibirean Ibex, Snow Leopards, Isabell Brownbears
(all rare, Marals are gone), marmots (Murmeltiere) should be out there, also foxes and martens (Marder),
tibetan antelopes could be interesting here and there set wild in concurrence to sheep and goats.
Snow Leopards watch its prey and beasts over days and catch them by surprise from huge rocks and cliffs,
that is very sexy,

Black wholes exist
black wholes exist and can only be approved indirectly by other interstellare matter and the scientistas doing the handling of the tools (respective equipment) to approve the matter close to black wholes.
black wholes are getting very fast, in more than light speed to the earth, which can be approoved by observance of actual and some year old political observations either in the wild, far, very wild or very far off west, and can also be proved by a test of Nazis
who get sucked by black wholes at once in a few lakh numbers without getting spit out after getting swallowd by the black whole, which is of quite magnificance in the interstellare orbit which is quasi everywhere.
black wholes signal importance of themself as can be proved with some politicans
here and there by sucking as many as possible, either opportunistic or unopportunistic signals and or options, these can be options as are construction measures from little wood lodges to skyscrappers, (of which
some get turned down short after construction, Bari), to tel-books, canalisation (in some regions the canal-deckel can hardly be closed, special deckelung !! but by the local specialists), further options for Black wholes can be votes or hand ringing cheers as part of stadium acts or on HD-flat, ad and pop up measures and the forth, also design of cigarre or cigarrete-cases and boxes and the more can be options for biz antibiz and or tel-numbers respective.
(approval of praemisse 1 and 2)
Black wholes are not modern or stylish but in some case the names or facelook can indicate something strange like Gloekler (brand pompoes) or Conchita (marke wurscht) and the more in case they want to be messengers 4 a special look (barock or slim) or maybe only pompoese as part of another try 4 approval of the existance of black wholes.
When a big wave is coming like as a Tsunami, before there come the big valley, cause the wave has to be made of the water it takes. Remark, the Tsunami destroied most of the reactors at Fukushima but not the ones at Tamil Nadu India.
Higgs and quarks
The smallest particles like higgs and quarks etc thy try to catch in huge underground tanks.
Calcium rocks, mountains, calcium cliffs get carved by water over ages which does sharp cliffs, caves, holes stalactites
Granite on the opposite which is very hard rock looks smooth and round as it gets wahsed over ages from outside , like the rocks at Hampi.in or the village region of Ilula.tanzania. Granite gets formed by water from outside and looks smooth and cosy then, not to mention its attraction for Thick Knee along Indias coasts.
Interesting about granite or other similar hard stone, over an altitude like 7000m all is different up there,
storms, winds, UV ice cutting rays, glaciers, men and women crawling, falling, climbing, freezing
somewhere up there, losing fingers, life and toes. But even with rocks, stones, ice and electricity, thunder storms and heavy winds all is different up there and can change within minutes.
And even the hardest rocks react in unusual way at that very risky altitudes and the elements moving heavily
in extremes up there, in change from north to south, exponated or in shade. Some can take it some don t
some know the risks, many not, thats the way which makes a difference.
old part -
As arriving to a magnificant valley in Maroc
about 1 hrs south of Marrakesh by car (sharetaxi ...) i got inspired by the rock colors, high up growing Oak trees (Steineichen) and the many tiny streams coming down more or less well organised by the people of the valley ...
Just that much - hard rock like Granite gets by water over ages smooth and round, and gets no caves
Calcium (Kalkstein) which is soft rock gets caves and dolines, stalactites and stalacmites, caves and dolines, washed out by water which gets hard-water (wasserhärte) by calcium
For long washed granite looks smooth n gentle (Hampi or valle de Oureka)

Diamond is of the hardest of the beautifull preciouse stones and when it is found, often in socalled soaps, a sandy layer in the ground with other hard christalls as korund, smaragd etc it has not yet the typical christall cuts. It s of smooth form, often with layers and of different colors which make it also more special. It s only made of C what is a bid strange to me.
Relativity - earth gravity
If you see one of the Big 5 Maybe an Elephant, or a Lion, you get not moved to it closer automaticalla. Its not big enough, but if you jump a bid of excitement you move back to the earth, the earth man relativity in matters of volume is so huge that you get back to earth immediately. If you want to leave you get shaken, burnt and rugged by trieing to leave earth and the gravity which does not allow that.
The earth does not allow you to leave !
The parallel can be seen with family and divorce in some cases,
it gets shaky then, often during family times.
With pair doing fish, cichlids.., most wild cats, also birds, as from woodpeckers, over falcons, hawks, eagles to storks, breeding time is special time but later again partners split or could change.
Family Unschärfe Relation
In families the members often know each other very well, sometimes too well, lived very close to each other for a while, then getting older can not see each other any more and quarrel or fight, often for stupid stuff. They are emotioanlly attached to each other over the years and as so they often want to fight that,
there is little distance in family relations and so often comes the emotional and mass with feelings along.
It s often more easy to get along with new or outside people, thats more objective
then and more easy, without the attachments and yearold stories.
The Inside Outside Family Unschaerfe relation.

Flying Squirrel Kashmiri
One of the only rodents i ve ever seen in the Himalayas, half meter of
size, dark colored, mostly seen at sunset and later flying around the
huge himal. Conifers (Himal Kiefer oder Tränenkiefer), not too often but they do,
I mean a half meter Squirrel is not unheavy.
Last seen about 10 years ago at hight of Varanasi (2006 Benares) what indicates
that the river was not too much chemically polluted at that time.
Its fantastic to see them coming up beside the rawing boats on the river, sometimes
even showing their heads out of water but mostly their nice big flukes.
They are specialised mudwater hunters, unclear waters mostly
as also in Amazonas region where huge monsterfish hunt and get hunt by native locals
Guess the Ganga waters at hight of Varanasi are of changing
quality as by season (dry - monsoon),
sand and rumble banks cleaning when with plants,
factories or polluting big cities attached.
Ganga dolphins give proof of not yet too bad water quality or
disturbances by mashines and boat engines.
Gharrials n Crocos
The worlds largest Crocos are the Australian Saltwater Crocodiles,
(Leistenkrokodile in german)
they get about 9m max size big, nowadys they ve problems with the Aga Aga Kröte
by its poisen when the catch them, brought in from Latin America by nutheads.
Sometimes the australien Crocos cover even distances in open sea between islands
as from Australia via Indonesia to India, maybe during last ice ages.
Along the Indian coast there are hardly any biotops any more of these huge Crocos
but not far from
Gharwals are an interesting Indian specie, fish catching Crocos with long
narrow mouth and huge teeth. They inhabit a river not far from Agra, and
maybe some rivers attached.
On way from Chennai to Mahabalipuram by bus (1,5 hrs) there is a Croco farm, where they also have poisenouse snakes and produce antiserums for snake bite cases.
Observed near Guest House at Kausani and around, also not far from Almora way to Kasar Devi
(oct 015), typical body, fast moving and reacting, always kind of alert not like many
street dogs sleeping in Kumaon cities in mid of streets undisturbed only.
Snake encounters -
(Schlangen, naag, saamp)
Comon Ind Ratsnake
dark and fast hiding near unused barn and toilet, about 2,5m, near the Laxmi Ashram (Kausani oct.015).
Comon Ind Ratsnake, in the river, looking big, long slim end gets up to 3m long, strangly moving during
skin change in water, stuck under a stone, by pattern and size in Kosi river near Eco camp (nov.014).
Big snakeskin found one year later at magic locatioon along Kosi river, maybe also of Com. Ind. Ratsnake,
Cobras prefer more tropical moist and djunglelike habitats.
(not venenomous) but a good biter, young one 40cm. (Pushkar nov.015, camel fair), by behauvior as it was even in that size totally unimpressed of also bigger animals moving there. Gets strong when old, a bid like a Wuergeschlange from the look, nice pattern, (small opening thumbnail pic !)
Guess another Cobra
by movement, at Chapora lake, no pigs there at that time. Nice one. (Goa feb.016)
fast moving over djungle ground, in wood near seatwater lake, Arambol 012
Med sized dark in water, by behauvior coming out of water with head and taking me in focus for some minutes while i was moving around the pond, fascinating as it stretched out of the water with head, maybe a young Cobra (??)
also some turtles and fish during monsoon. Artifical pond with tree-island in mid.
Sharewood reste (got closed), during monsoon Goa 2006, maybe a young Cobra
Small Worm Snakes
at Chapora hill and area during dry season occasionally (unpoisen)
(Mangusten -german) Observed over years around Dharamsala, up to Dharamkot
and further (HP). Typical nice biotops, paddy fields, half open areas
scattered with smooth granite rocks hilly and with woods. There are 6 species,
some debated as they look similar and may mix. In the mountain areas
you mostly see the Grey and Small Indian Mongoose (Herpestres auropunctatus
and H. edwardsii), sometimes they check for food in family style, sometimes
single grown ups roaming, always alert. They are also known as good snake
hunters, i like their way, they are quite peacefull, but will not hesitate
to defend against dogs, monkeys or other bigger maylike disturbers.
Roaming the beaches uppar Rishikesh i found traces of Otters,
(march 015) first i thought , maybe somebody tried to introduce
them to Indien biotops as i ve never heared of Otters living in
indian waters. I followed the traces but they didn t go further upriver,
guess as missing grown over shores and hiding places, Otters like green
overgrown shores to hide, Eurasian Otters like nallas and rivers alike, the Smooth
Coated Otters prefer lakes, shallow rice fields, mangroves and other
calm waters. As by size of traces and biotop it must have been the
Eurasian Otters (2 pieces), beside these two species there is also the Oriental
Small Clawed Otter.
(mice- Apodemus sylvaticus, comon woodmouse) winter 016-017 i caught since summer about 5-6 mice, they got kept and cought alive. Its quite tricky to keep them instead like with white rats or smelly common house mice, During winter they are so aggressive that they also kill each other, in contrast to diversity of Wuehlmäuse or also Schneemäuse. In the Mölltaltruachn it was totally impossible to keep them, within about 4-5 hours they got through the woodleisten (in case it was softwood), repair and savety measures to keep them inside ... senseless.
Aquarien can be of need, they don t understand glass fronts and 3d, have more a flat screen like vision, I keep them in nature as pure food for other bigger mammals and hunters as Martens, Iltis, Marder, Foxes, Owls and other birds of prey.
Usually the room, where i keep them, to the garden side, is cold and clean, no dust and no shady pops ..... The last two mice survived and did not get out of the cage too often, usually when i was out to gemeinde/ village (ugly) sometimes during summer coming back and refreshing the room with sprinkling water for them, one was like a flat one pressed at the door .... some got kupiert, let out during i was in ugly village or so forth gemein.
I told brother on phone once "kupierte schwänze an mäusen und mäuse an kupierten schwänzen", as i got to know when i was back from village ..... sometimes.
It seems to be really of no problem to narcotic them for short and do that things to them. But i feed them well with sunflowers, apples and peanuts, which they prefer to sunflowers, also they like barch of trees for resistence during winter, specially oak barch.
As gemeinde Waldmäuse, comon woodmice related and can be mixed with Brandmäuse (Apodemus agrarius), they have good instincts and reaction and can bite nicely when some stink gets closer.
They also like big apple on the plate, i gave them the name trustee and ms.trump, their heartbeat is of a teckno like 140 beats/ min. but i stopped fast putting their food in a pot or tiny
container, where they sitin, instead i used the socalled Kerker-feeding method fast,
just through inside good food, bid targeted sometimes but not too much, instead
of having them sitting on the food.
Usually always alert and on the jump or climb the only situation when they hunt is the male hunting the female for mating, some can become hermaphrodites. They only need small cosy territory, have bad eyesight, but very good ears and smell. They can also climb good, jump and
can stand on two legs which is very very lovely ...
But astonishing jun to end of july 017 not a single mouse in t live trap - Opus Diaboli -

Kompost is quite important in fertile soil missing farm regions. 1st of all its coming
from the kitchen, organic rests, its composed from what you cut, like onions, potatoes,
sausages, vegs, meat, carrots etc Then you put outside to a halfshady place,
it needs moist to transform and become good soil. Some insects could come,
with the insects come beautiful Flycatcher birds, Swallows and little Bats at nights.
So the more you cook cut and split the more good soil you get later by doing
good cooking and farming - voila !-)
Birdsbath - Vogeltränke
Doing hard reaserach in Goa-India (jan-mar 014) i set up a simple birdsbath at my

regions as Goa during dry and very hot season - SUPPORT the birds !!
